Dark cherry gets transformed into a cool sea kelp complementing a modern take on farmhouse chic.
This was one of our favorite projects in Boulder. The homeowners had just moved in to a true fixer upper. We worked with their finish carpenter and a master cabinetry maker to preserve the vintage feel of the original cabinets but modernize the design with glass inserts, fascia and crown molding to connect to the ceiling, and custom mill work to integrate a new hood. Our prep work restoring the old cabinets combined with the industrial wood coatings we use tied everything together. Instead of going with the bids for 55K for new cabinets, 9K for new countertops, they spent just over 5K with us and love the restoration of the original features.
